This is a track to inspire dancers in the clubs and festivals all over the globe. Starting with hints of Missy Elliot's 'Get Yo Freak On' as a tempo and vibe, it then takes a darker, more Trip Hop inspired direction. In homage to Liz Ikamba’s roots in DR Congo, you’ll be able to detect subtle sounds of the jungle taken from a field recording.

Liz Ikamba is a British-Congolese (DRC) singer and multi-instrumentalist who successfully released Ba Yeba on her debut EP MAMA in May this year. Ba Yeba has had great reviews and radio play on numerous radio stations including BBC 6 Music. Liz chose Champion Fever to remix the track because of his love of embracing spontaneity and sculpting tracks from singular moments and first-take improvisations. Mastered by Ed Chivers from AK/DK and Fujiya & Miyagi, Ba Yeba Champion Fever remix has been beautifully crafted with a ton of collaborative talent taking care to honour its original welcoming message.

Ba Yeba is a call to friends and family members across the globe, reminding them, ‘always know you are welcome here’. Clubbers love to chant the Lingala lyrics ‘Ba Yeba, ba yebana’ meaning they know, may they know.
